Here we go… number 100!
Monday, July 14th, 2008I appreciate all the responses, I do, but I’m going to have to be selective since it might take me until October to actually come up with 100 places in Atlanta or 100 random facts about me.
So Becky’s response gets to be the subject of post 100. And its not 100 items – instead its the best and worst……of parenting, marriage, working, vacations, etc…
The Best
Of Parenting… hearing your baby laugh, having her snuggle against your chest, slobbery kisses, hearing ‘mama’ with recognition for the first time, seeing her hit milestones, trying to figure out what she’s trying to tell us, seeing your husband be a great dad, looking back through the pictures capturing her first year, seeing her love other children
Of Marriage… having your best friend as your husband, snuggling together in the mornings, having meaningful conversations on long car rides, having a child together, and the little things like having someone make coffee in the morning without asking or him letting you watch a movie like ‘Enchanted’ without too much complaint
Of Working… having an impact and seeing hard work pay off, providing a comfortable lifestyle for your family
Of Vacations… not having to think about work, enjoying relaxation, seeing your child experience new things and playing with family, beach with a cold adult beverage (particularly if its delivered to you!), a hike in the mountains
The Worst
Of Parenting… temper tantrums, explosive diapers, throwing up in the car seat halfway through a road trip, teething, interrupted sleep, illnesses
Of Marriage… when they don’t get the point you are trying to make, when they weigh less than you do
Of Working… husband traveling, limited time to spend with Amelia, questioning at what point money doesn’t matter
Of Vacations… getting some random illness, flight delays and issues, traveling with a child who wants to be mobile, connecting flights, the amount of luggage an infant requires, rain the whole time
I am so happy and so lucky to have my wonderful husband and my adorable daughter. I can not imagine my life if it had gone down another path – I certainly would not have chosen a different path. They are the loves of my life and what truly give it meaning. Family is the most important thing to me, and I am blessed. (And thanks to my family and Chris’ family for helping to shape our lives into what they are today)
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog about a daughter growing from an infant to a toddler. Its been a transition – originally this was Amelia’s reviews of food, then it was her perspective on growing up and now its mostly my journal of what goes on in our lives. I hope you enjoy it, and that I’ve given you laughs and memories. I plan to continue documenting our lives, though I’m sure it’ll continue to evolve, and I’d love for all of you to continue the journey with us. Now that I’ve hit 100, I might have to go back and add a few historical posts for the months I wasn’t yet keeping track of Amelia and her mischief.
Love,
Baby Momma
