Photos on a Sunday Morning

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

I decided to do a photo shoot this Sunday morning cause well I could -  Chris is out hitting golf balls (he’s crazy, its 45 degrees outside), so I thought it’d be fun to play dress up with Amelia.  My best friend from high school, Mona, gave Amelia this beautiful dress and her mom gave us the adorable shoes with it – its so fun and girly!  We also did some diaper cover shots cause well – its so fun to see her belly and thighs.  Enjoy!

Hope everyone had a great weekend,

Kelly

Test of new camcorder…

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

We took a couple of clips of Amelia last night with our new camcorder, which finally arrived (don’t ask us our opinion of UPS right now…) – and we are playing and learning with the video editor that came with it.  So here are two clips, sliced together, for your enjoyment.

The first clip is of Amelia doing her Bs again and how she lets us help her – the 2nd is how I try and get her to say ma (she loves to say ba, da, wa, and particularly a loud Aaaaahhhh) – and how she just laughs at me.

Hope you all have a great weekend,

Kelly

Waving!

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

I’ve seen Amelia wave now – its too cute!  She did it last night while in her high chair and today when I dropped her off at daycare – it wasn’t really related to saying hi or bye but either way – adorable.  And she’s getting good at going backwards – if only she would get on her knees and try forwards – then I’ll be in real trouble.

By my calculations she’s 20 1/2 lbs (almost 90th %), and just about 26 1/2 inches (oh about 25th %) – we’ll see at her 9 month appointment where she really falls.

Mid-Week Photos to go with Mid-Week Rambling

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

My friend Alex came over to play on Sunday.  He wanted to play swords with these foam pieces, but I was a little small for that – the ball was better.

Mommy calls these my Speed Racer pjs because they are striped and a little tight fitting for my chunky thighs.

Mommy had me try on a blue jean hat – we’ll be going on more walks in the sun so I need to be shaded.

And since its warm enough for shorts, I got to wear a new pink Duke outfit for our walk today.  It has a matching baseball hat too, but I kept taking it off so mom gave up.  I even showed my two front teeth in my smile.  Go Blue Devils!

I hope you are all doing well,

Mid-week Ramblings

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

I hope everyone is having a good week.  Its chillier than I would’ve hoped here in Atlanta this week – I really want to start getting out for some good walks with Amelia – she loves it outside.

Today is picture day at daycare, which I didn’t remember until I was already about to put her in her carseat – so we went back inside and picked out a cute dress.  Of course, by this time, she started to get a little fussy.  We were already running late and into her morning naptime.  They were already taking pictures when we got there – and so we plopped her down and we  only got Miss Serious.  Amelia has the serious face that is oh so serious, like she is so grave and mature or something.  And that’s all we could get.  When she smiles,  the world is a brighter place – and usually we can get smiles for pictures – but no, not going to happen!  So I’ll see what I can do tonight myself and hopefully post a couple pictures.  Because she did look really cute in the blue & white sailor dress.

Amelia seems to be just changing every day – she can do this army crawl and get to things, and the other day she somehow turned around 180 degrees while still sitting.  She still occasionally will do the B strumming, but even more fun is she’ll let you strum her lips while she says B, and she even tries to do it back to us.

She refuses to eat the Gerber puffs, or anything solid for that matter, little pieces of bread, smooshed up carrot – nothing.  I did try my first attempt at making baby food last night from frozen peaches, and just did one run through the food mill so it has a bit more texture than what she currently eats.  She ate a couple bites of that so we’ll try more tonight and see how that goes.  Maybe we will just go ever so slowly into the world of texture – haha.  I’ll have the 2 year old that only eats baby food – oh well.

I know this is just a random blog post, but I felt like writing about my baby girl.  She is just so fun and precious.  I’ll try to post some pictures tonight or tomorrow as well – she’s a growing girl!

B…B…B…B…

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Recently, Amelia thought it was the best thing to ’strum’ her lips while making a B sound.  It was so funny I had to capture it on video to share with all of you.  As with most things, she has mostly moved on to newer and greater things after only a couple days, but luckily I managed to get this in time.

Enjoy!
