Midweek Tidbits

While I don’t have any new pictures yet to share, I wanted to share a few fun tidbits about cute things Amelia is doing right now.

Probably my favorite is that she is giving the best hugs and loves to give them – just wraps herself around you – its awesome and amazing.

Another fun thing she has learned is that if she is hungry, she goes to the high chair and wants to get up. She knows that is where we eat (which I guess is a good thing!). She’ll do it to a booster seat as well if we aren’t at home – doesn’t have to be her high chair. And she is hungry all the time it seems, you’d think we weren’t feeding her or something. I have trouble getting her to do ‘all done’ because she is never all done – she’ll just keep eating. She has decided she needs breakfast before daycare these days, which makes for logistical fun when trying to get out the door. Most mornings I try to do oatmeal mixed with fruit puree, but this morning was cheerios. (Maybe that is why she was cranky when I dropped her off – hmmm). When I tried to do this a couple weeks ago she was having nothing to do with it, but maybe because she isn’t on formula anymore (soy milk baby right now), she’s hungrier and now looks forward to eating before we leave.

At daycare they have been letting her visit the toddler room to get used to it – and they say she is a pro! They actually said she walked yesterday, but since I didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. ;) I think she is close, but I am not sure she is ready to walk quite yet so we’ll see.

She’s also started saying some other words, most are hard to decipher – but I know I’ve heard ‘oscar’ which is our friend Graham’s dog and his first word. Which he says all the time – so I know that is where she picked that one up.

Last tidbit for today is that she loves soft things and pillows now. She loves to hug her stuffed animals or to lay on a soft pillow – not for long, its brief, but so adorable.

Hope everyone is getting through the week okay – its almost the weekend, and then we’ll be headed off on vacation with my side of the family in Texas. Because Texas is logical when its really hot outside – not sure what we were thinking but it should be fun – Amelia loves her cousins and they have a lazy river and all sorts of fun stuff there.

Collin loves Nutrigrain pancakes — very portable! You might try that. Then I send him to school with something else — yogurt, baby cereal.
